Author Update #17

I have gotten a few new followers since my “Starting Your Memoir” courses, so I wanted to give a few updates as to what to expect next and why I’ve been on temporary hiatus. Largely, my attention has been wildly divided between my duties as a parent, grad school applications, and this life-changing move inland! So, my hiatus has been a well-earned respite from the rigors of being shockingly over-committed for… well, years.

What’s new: I have applied to the non-fiction M.F.A. program at Antioch University in L.A. The program begins in December and has a very high acceptance rate compared to other schools. So, I might be starting there or holding out for a better program — TBA. I am also looking into an online teaching resource for continuing my memoir writing guidance. If anyone is interested, leave a comment below! I’m open to ideas for workshops as well.

In the meantime, I am forming a small writing workshop group with a friend that is still in the planning phase. I hope to have it up and running in September. I’ve also put in a few publication submissions and written some. It’s been a little hard staying focused lately, but I am starting to get the hang of it again.
