Author Update #24
My penultimate article in my internship with The Key Reporter has been posted, here is the link to “Creating Connections Through the Visiting Scholars Program with Natalia Molina.” The experience of this event was one of the highlights of my professional career thus far. I had a wonderful time speaking with Professor Molina, a Distinguished Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity and Dean’s Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity University of Southern California. She is such a powerful speaker and a kind conversationalist.
In other news, I want my subscribers to know that I truly appreciate them. I have taken a new step in my writing journey and joined the Medium program that allows for me to create earnings on some posts. Please, do not be worried! If you are a member (and you can become one for only $4 a month!), you can access these stories at any time. I only do this because, as much as I love writing, I am spending a lot of money to do it professionally all the time. All Medium members who are subscribed to my work will have access to my professional work AND personal blog posts. Non-members will have access to my author updates and personal blog posts. I am so happy to say that a couple of my more professional opinion pieces have gained a lot of attention recently. This has allowed me to start earning for my writing, which is wild, right? Every read on these professional, researched and highly crafted works will give me a little bit of money. I remain dedicated to open-access information, but I am doing this professionally and every penny I earn will contribute to my one-day publishing goals.
Finally, I wanted to share that I am currently working through Antioch’s residency period, and have joined a new writing group for queer writers. I am very excited for the writing group, and still deciding my feelings for the residency. I will try to stay on top of my promise for weekly blog posts, but I’m a little swamped right now hahaha
