Author Update #28

A couple of quick updates:

1. I have decided to withdraw from Antioch without finishing out the semester. The reasons for my withdrawal are myriad, some based on program deficiencies, some based on personal pride, some based on my changed headspace. Whatever the case may be, it was never going to be a good fit.
2. My work has decided to bring me on for a more permanent posting teaching reading/writing. I am excited about this turn of events, and am excited to start working in my realm of expertise. I hope that it will be as fulfilling as I think will be.
3. That being the case, I am putting more interest into teaching at the middle/high school level. I think that no matter whether or not I get accepted into a graduate program for English/Creative Writing, I will seek my single-subject teaching credential as well. Being that I am working as an educator already, I may be able to receive funding from the state which is cool news. I will be solidifying my role as a teacher which will mean that rejections during this round of grad applications will not mean an end to my professional life. I think this is a good turn of events.
