Author Update #7

I woke up the morning of my birthday party to receive amazing news: My next acceptance! More on that. This year, my birthday (February 1) falls on the exact same day as the start date of Spring semester. So, my birthday officially got pushed back to January 30th. After bumming out ALL week for not getting responses on a few of my most recent submissions, I woke up to one! It was my biggest birthday wish.

The work accepted is one very dear to me, in many ways. It is titled: “Meine Geschichte”, an intensely personal fantastical tale about a woman who woke up giving birth. I can’t say too much about it, since you should DEFINITELY buy the anthology when it releases in print, summer 2021.

This piece will be included in the debut anthology from Cardigan Press (now defunct) dedicated to work by and for writers. This print book will be full of wonderful work, featuring micro fiction, short fiction, poetry, and vignettes all dedicated to the craft of writing, and our experiences with it. I’m sad I missed it, but I literally haven’t gone anywhere in a very long time and was so overjoyed to see the four people I socially distanced with to celebrate.

Now I feel like celebrating again, since this is now my 6th publication, 2nd print publication, and FIRST entirely fiction publication! I love “Meine Geschichte” and I hope the readers of the anthology will, too.
